BOYCHOIR U.S. TOUR MUSIC: THE BEST BRIDGE FOR ALL PEOPLE!
On the invitation of the Consortium for International Cultural and Social Relations and under the direction of Intermuse Performing Artists Bureau, the
internationally-acclaimed Dagilelis Boychoir of Lithuania toured the USA from October
20 through November 6, 2011 to promote friendly relations among people of
goodwill. The tour included 28 performances in prestigious venues throughout
Maryland, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New
York, including concert halls, universities, churches, state capitols and city
halls, and community centers. Dagilelis thoroughly charmed audiences with their
beautiful renditions of music from Bach and Elgar to Lithuanian folk songs to
“Oh Shenandoah” and “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” They met with public officials,
diplomats, church leaders, students, choirs, and American people of all walks
life. They sang with several American choirs and performed with the American
Virtuosi. All their performances were rewarded with standing ovations.
Dagilelis
impressed everyone with their music and their warm personalities. The tour was
nothing short of a huge success! Not only was it a showcase of wonderful music
and musicians but also an effective tool in fostering goodwill relations among
many people.
Dagilelis has gained international
acclaim for its scintillating performances under the direction Maestro
Remigijus Adomaitis, receiving prestigious awards and honors worldwide. Their
performances at major musical venues, on radio and television, and their
numerous professional recordings have been highly valued and appreciated by
audiences around the world.
Prizes include Grand Prix at XXXIV International Festival of Songs and
contest "Mundi Cantat" in Olomouc (2006, Czech Republic) and first
prize in the following competitions: IX European Festival Giuseppe Zelioli
(2010, Italy), Giessen (1997, Germany), Arezzo (1999, Italy), Fivizzano (2000,
Italy), Prague (2002, Czech Republic), Rome (2004, Italy). They were also
awarded a special prize in the Cantonigros Choir Competition (2003, Spain).
